In 1990, when he was named Black Engineer of the Year, Art Carter was vice president and general manager of Boeing's Missile Systems Division. An electrical engineer, Carter spent his entire career advancing with Boeing, working his way up the ranks of leadership. Retired since 1998, Carter serves on the boards of numerous organizations in and around Seattle, including the Citizens Oversight Panel of Sound Transit, a $4-billion transportation improvement project for the Puget Sound area.

Senior Project Manager
 
Our client, a major metropolitan sewerage district, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee capital related projects in the Water Planning or Water Treatment Plants of the District.  This will include the development of studies, planning, design and construction, all to ensure effective solutions to sewerage and watercourse issues within the District boundaries.  You will manage outside consultant contracts, to include the development of studies, plans, specifications and designs and ensuring accurate contracts and cost estimates.  Ensure contractors and consultants complete projects on time, within budget and according to District standards.  Provide quality assurance reviews of contract document bidding packages for capital projects, ensuring documents maintain District standards.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related major and six to eight years of related experience.  Must possess a Professional Engineer’s designation or equivalent.  Proven management experience with multiple projects ($10-30million).  Experience related to the use of physical and environmental data to evaluate projects for water resource and sewerage improvements.  The client offers a competitive salary and an outstanding benefits package.  As an equal opportunity/ affirmative action employer, our client encourages applications from persons able to contribute to the organization’s commitment to diversity and pluralism.
