BALTIMORE/DETROIT- Ms. Kerry Buffington joins Career Communications Group as a Business Development Manager, working out of the company’s Detroit office. In this role, she will be responsible for coordinating and implementing strategic initiatives for securing sponsorship for the annual Women of Color STEM Conference, building and establishing networks that create sponsorship and build name branding, as well as conducting prospect research on foundations, corporations, and grant opportunities to evaluate prospects for grants.

Washington contributes experience in human resources, management, and administration.
Her past experience includes working closely with Airboss Flexible Products as a Human Resources Manager, and Epoxi-Tech, Inc. as a Human Resources Generalist.

Prior to accepting this position, Buffington operated as Human Resource Supervisor at Federal-Mogul Motorparts, where she assisted the VP of Human Resources Global Braking and Regional Braking Human Resources Manager Americas in the areas of recruitment, compensation (pay equity, merit and bonus administration), talent management (performance appraisals, succession planning and training), regulatory compliance, and employee relations, various HR studies/projects on a Global basis.

She is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Administration and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Administration.
