Career Communications Group (CCG), publisher of USBE Online and other diversity and technology Web sites, today announced the appointment of award-winning journalist Frank McCoy as Editor-In-Chief.
Frank McCoy has been an editor and writer for more than 20 years and online producer since 1995. Most recently, he was executive producer of the Money & Finance page of AOL News. He has been a senior editor at U. S. News & World Report magazine and at Black Enterprise magazine.
He has also served as staff editor at BusinessWeek magazine, and is a long-time contributing editor to Hispanic Business magazine. He has written or done research for Working Mother magazine, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, Africana.com, Our World News, the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, Savoy magazine, AOL BlackVoices.com and other print and Web publications.
”We are pleased that Frank has agreed to lead our editorial team,” said Tyrone Taborn, Career Communications Group publisher and CEO. “He is an accomplished journalist with a solid track record within the industry.
"We are confident that Frank will uphold the standard of CCG’s inspiring group of magazines and dynamic Web sites, and take us to even higher heights of excellence that will build on our relationships with thousands of minority students, professionals, small- and medium-sized business owners, and top companies and government agencies in America.”
Prior to becoming a journalist, Mr. McCoy was an international loan officer at Chemical Bank. He holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University, an M.A. in international relations from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and a bachelor’s degree in independent studies from University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
"I am thrilled to join the Career Communications Group team,” said McCoy. “As the son of an entrepreneur, a former corporate officer, the spouse of an immigrant, and father of a daughter and a son, I can see the current and future readers of CCG's magazines and Web sites clearly.
“Throughout my journalistic career, I have gained experience both at mainstream publications and those that specifically serve readers who are African Americans, Hispanics, Asian Americans, and women. Now, my goal, with your help, is to ensure that CCG brings new insight and excitement to its print and Web publications as it documents and celebrates our diverse rising stars, veterans, and pioneers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Let's get busy!"
