The number of black (or African-American) workers in 2005 was 15.3 million, up 404,000 from 2004, and they comprised 10.8 percent of total employment. The number of Asian (or Pacific Islander) workers increased 250,000 to 6.2 million in 2005, and they comprised 4.4 percent of total employment.
