BEYA Modern-Day Technology Leaders are professionals shaping the future of engineering, science, and technology. Honorees receive a Certificate of Recognition during the Tech Leaders Luncheon. The luncheon is held as part of the annual BEYA STEM Conference, which brings together professionals and students from a range of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)-related fields.
Justin Cloud, an engineering director at L3Harris Technologies, shared his congratulations to Alex Niles and Eli Duval on LinkedIn.
"Congratulations to two L3Harris engineers, Eli Duval, Sr. specialist project engineer, and Alex Niles, director supply chain, who were winners of the BEYA Modern-Day Technology Award," he wrote.
Bryant Henson, president, Mission Avionics at L3Harris Technologies, also posted his good wishes and reflected on what BEYA meant to him.
"I had the privilege to celebrate my colleagues and STEM leaders across the nation at the BEYA STEM Conference," he said. "L3Harris team members Eli Duval and Alex Niles were recognized with BEYA Modern Day Technology Leader awards, both prestigious and well-deserved honors."
"This year’s conference theme was 'making the untapped potential possible', Henson continued. "It gave me an opportunity to reflect on the series of pivotal events and experiences that helped shape my career - including attending my first BEYA conference."
As a recent high-school graduate and engineering intern. Henson said he had little experience, lots of determination, and was unsure about what path his career would take. Encouraged by a mentor, he attended the conference and was inspired by the leaders he met and seeing so many people that looked like him being recognized for their accomplishments.
"It motivated me to elevate my professional aspirations and introduced me to the aerospace and defense industry, where I began my career as a systems engineer," he said. "It was the encouragement from a key mentor and the BEYA STEM conference that created a pivotal moment that set me on my journey and helped to release my untapped potential," Henson wrote.
"I’m thankful I had a chance to attend this year’s conference and work for an organization that is committed to building an inclusive environment. I encourage you to take the time to introduce and encourage a young person toward the field of STEM; you just might create a pivotal point in someone’s future," he concluded.
Eric'el Johnson, an electrical systems design engineer at Boeing, gave a shout out to all 35 award winners from Boeing. "Congrats to everyone!" she wrote.
Devon Stanley, a senior storage administrator and a doctoral student was a proud MDTL award winner from Huntington Ingalls.
