The first DIG STEM Festival attracted more than 2,500 people and featured a STEM competition, youth recreation basketball All-Star game, Hoop for a Dream basketball tournament, and a DIG Flag Football Tournament. The event also graduated four participants of the DIG STEM Mentoring and Development Program.
In June 2016, DIG held its 2nd annual DIG STEM Summer Enrichment Program with an enrollment of 115 kids. Along with STEM enrichment, inquiry learning processes, math and science tutoring DIG added the addition of character building and enrichment in literature and arts.
Recognizing the need for recreational outlets, the program emphasizes physical activity and will expand its All-Star youth basketball game to other communities.
