Dr. Everett Roper is a role model for every engineer at the U. S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center or AMRDEC.
He is a Principal Engineer in the Joint Attack Munition Systems (JAMS) Project Office (PO).
His responsibilities include support of the JAMS PO include management of the JAMS Family of missile launchers and test sets, planning, directing, and controlling of all resources involved in managing launchers and test sets.
Dr. Roper has been employed since August 2008. Focused on design, development, improvement and technology integration, he strives to furnish the War fighter with the proper launchers and support equipment to enable air-to-ground operations that result in closing with and destroying the enemy through fire and maneuver.
The Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center provides research, development, and engineering technology and services in order to equip the War fighter with the best technology today and tomorrow.
'Southern Education Foundation Fellow for Innovation and Change'
Dr. Roper is also an Adjunct faculty member at Oakwood University, where he teaches courses in networking, computer programming, and project management.
He is currently a Southern Education Foundation Fellow for Innovation and Change.
This fellows program was designed to accelerate innovation and change in education research, policy, and practice and brings together talented professionals interested in developing cutting-edge research, policy solutions, and practice to improve the educational outcomes of all students from pre-kindergarten to higher education.
Everett Roper graduated with a PhD in systems engineering, a Master of Science degree in computer science, a Master of Science degree in engineering management and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, all from the University of Alabama Huntsville. He also earned an Executive MBA degree from the University of North Alabama.
He also holds certifications in several areas of process improvement including: (1) The Personal Software Process and Team Software Process; (2) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI); and (3) Six Sigma.
Dr. Roper is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, American Society for Engineering Management, National Society of Black Engineers, Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers and Association for Computing Machinery. Dr. Roper has received numerous awards including a BEYA for Professional Achievement.
