Party Grenada celebrated Dr. Camille Lewis, a Grenada-born engineer, on her recent achievement of receiving the Modern-Day Technology Leader award at the 38th annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) held February 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Lewis received this prestigious technology award for her exceptional contributions at Lockheed Martin (LM), where she has served for over 15 years and recently started her second three-year tenure as an LM Fellow.

The LM Fellow position is a role reserved for outstanding Lockheed Martin employees who have distinguished themselves as thought leaders in their field.
Reflecting on her recognition, Dr. Lewis told Party Grenada that she was truly honored to receive the BEYA award.
"I am inspired to continue driving technological innovation and advancement while ensuring that individuals from minority communities are meaningfully engaged in the process."
She expressed gratitude to her mother, Myra Lewis, sister Simone Lewis, brother Damian Lewis, daughter Laurie Satchell, and many friends and supporters who have supported her throughout her career.
Dr. Lewis also acknowledged her teachers in Grenada who nurtured her early interest in math and Science during her formative years, her professors and instructors at college and university who believed in her and pushed her to do her very best, her incredible mentors throughout her career who have guided her along her career path, and the senior executives at Lockheed Martin who nominated her for the award.
