North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has appointed Alexander C. Yin, Ph.D., as the new vice provost for the Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (OSPIE), part of the Division of Academic Affairs. Yin will begin work at A&T on July 1.
Yin has almost twenty years of experience in planning and research at two of the nation's top land-grant universities, including the University of Vermont, where he was assistant provost of Institutional Research and Assessment, and Penn State, where he worked as a senior planning and research associate.
Yin will lead OSPIE, which is the primary source of official data for the university, providing data and analysis for evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning throughout A&T. He will begin his new role on July 1.
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University stands as the largest historically Black university in the United States. As a land-grant, doctoral institution, North Carolina A&T State University holds the "high research" classification from the Carnegie Foundation, and it is part of the University of North Carolina System.
