The White House recently issued a fact sheet commemorating the one-year anniversary of the CHIPS and Science Act's signing into law. The act provides almost $53 billion for the advancement of semiconductor manufacturing, research and development, and the workforce. It also establishes a 25% tax credit for capital investments in semiconductor manufacturing, promoting American innovation and technological progress.
The CHIPS and Science Act aims to enhance American competitiveness, increase the resilience of American supply chains, and support national security and access to vital technologies.
To explore partnership opportunities in the global semiconductor supply chain, the State Department has already partnered with Costa Rica, Panama, and the OECD.
Career Communications Group recently organized a seminar called "Lessons in Leadership: Acquisition and Supply Chain." The panelists included acquisition and supply chain experts, as well as senior executive service members.
They discussed the primary issues facing 21st-century warfighting and defense. Cedric George, CEO of the George Consulting Group, Kevin Bostick, former director of Operations and Readiness in the U.S. Army Materiel Command, and Michael Johnston, assistant commandant for acquisition and chief acquisition officer of the U.S. Coast Guard and director of logistics and installations at the U.S. National Guard Bureau were among the panelists.
