Do you know an outstanding college student or athlete who should be honored at the Student Leadership Awards during the BEYA STEM Conference? Nominations are currently being accepted for high-achievers in academic and research excellence, community service, and outstanding student-athletes in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The deadline to submit your nomination is Friday, December 10, 2019.
The awards committee is looking for students who have gone above and beyond their achievements in academics or sports. Students who are selected as winners will be recognized on a national platform in front of their peers, STEM professionals, and mentors.
The Student Leadership Award recognizes students who are striving to make outstanding contributions in STEM and who have demonstrated a commitment to volunteering. Candidate must be in a leadership position of a STEM-focused organization on or off-campus. Students in officer training programs or attending a military academy are granted the Military Leadership Award.
The Student Research Award recognizes students who are striving to make outstanding contributions through STEM research and presentations. Nominees must have received recognition for research projects in which they have been a participant.
The Student Community Award recognizes students who are striving to make outstanding contributions to STEM education, through volunteering and engaging the campus and local community. Candidate must have shown exemplary leadership in promoting an area of STEM to students and the community (community service, campus service, tutoring).
The Student Academics Award recognizes students who uphold the principles of scholarship and are impacting the academic atmosphere of their campus in a positive way. Must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher
The Student-Athlete Award recognizes the drive and determination of talented students who perform highly, both in the classroom and in their respective sports.
