Austin holds a Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering and has exemplified excellence throughout her career. Her journey began in 1979 when she joined The Aerospace Corporation, where she served in various leadership roles.
Notably, Dr. Austin held the position of interim president of the University of Southern California from 2018 to 2019. Her leadership extends beyond these roles, as she serves on the boards of renowned companies such as Amgen and Chevron.
Previously, Dr. Austin also served on the board of Virgin Galactic, further showcasing her extensive experience in diverse industries.
