Tyrone Taborn, publisher and CEO of diversity media company Career Communications Group, will serve as keynote speaker for the 20th Black Engineering Council of General Dynamics Electric Boat Scholarship Awards Banquet on Friday, May 29 at the Mystic Marriott Hotel in Groton, CT.
Along with addressing its theme of "Building and Maintaining Strong Relationships," this event will recognize two New London County African American high school seniors for winning the 2015 Black Engineering Council (BEC) Scholarships based on academic achievement, community service and a written essay that answered the question: 'How does building and maintaining strong positive relationships with people in your community contribute to the future success of you and your community?'
"I am honored to speak amongst a group of brilliant scholars at the Black Engineering Council of General Dynamics Electric Boat Scholarship Banquet, says Taborn. "I am proud of the accomplishments of these students and hope to pass on a message that will motivate them to continue their studies in engineering."
