At the 2023 BEYA STEM Conference in Washington, D.C., Everton Swearing, a sales director and account executive at Vitesco Technologies, received the Black Engineer of the Year Award for Technical Sales and Marketing.
The conference brought together exceptional individuals from academia, industry, and the military who demonstrated excellence in engineering, mathematics, science, and technology. These individuals serve as great examples of the countless career opportunities that STEM education provides.
During the conference, Swearing and his colleagues, Elvin Simpson (Science Spectrum Trailblazer Honoree) and Armand Foreman (Modern Day Technology Leader Honoree), had the chance to share their success stories, best practices, and advice with young professionals considering a career in the STEM field.
Swearing, with his extensive background in design engineering and product development, has managed multidisciplinary teams in business development and sales. He was particularly successful in sales as the head of sales for the Americas for Vitesco Technologies' Ford Account, where he led margin improvement teams and helped the business unit meet financial targets. He also served as the executive responsible for the Ford Asia Pacific business, gaining insights for advancing the business relationship.
Currently, Swearing serves as the global head of sales for the 2-Wheeler and Powersports customer group in Vitesco Technologies' non-automotive business, where he has earned the trust of key customers to partner with Vitesco Technologies as their supplier.
