The Board of Directors of Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) has announced the selection of Johanna R. Jones as ITSMF’s new President and CEO.
“After an extensive nationwide executive search, we are excited to fill our highest leadership position with someone of Johanna’s caliber,” said Michael Buckham-White, ITSMF Board Chair. “She brings a wealth of proven experience to this role—advancing the mission and visibility of several nonprofit organizations, nurturing effective partnerships, and creating results-oriented marketing strategies that drive business development and other goals.”
During her tenure as the director of workforce development and strategic partnerships at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, she developed comprehensive regional strategies around workforce development programs for Black/African-American individuals and designed an information technology (IT) career pathway for non-traditional students.
As vice president of development and advancement at places for people, Johanna led the organization’s efforts to raise $7 million to build a new community health center.
“I am thrilled to begin my leadership tenure of such an influential and vital organization,” said the newly appointed ITSMF president and CEO. “ITSMF has made tremendous progress toward the development and advancement of Black professionals in technology fields and I’m eager to use my experience and strengths in inventive ways to expand organizational growth and impact.”
Johanna has served on several nonprofit boards and remains active in several charitable entities such as Jack and Jill of America and the Jabberwock Rites of Passage Program for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. St. Louis Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter.
