US Black Engineer & Information Technology (USBE&IT) magazine's BEYA STEM Conference edition once again showcases all the award winners at the annual event held during Black History Month.
Alicia Boler Davis, the 2018 Black Engineer of the Year, is executive vice president for General Motors Global Manufacturing. She is the thirty-second person in history to be named Black Engineer of the Year.
The leading automotive executive also shared the stage with winners from Huntington Ingalls Industries, America's largest shipbuilders; Leidos, MITRE, Fannie Mae, FCA, Sandia, Verizon, AT&T, Dow AgroSciences, BGE, Boeing, Raytheon, NASA, Army Corps of Engineers, Johns Hopkins, and NAVAIR.
Other award winners include Steve Brown, founder of the DIG program, Drew Valentine of IBM, Derek McGowan from Lockheed Martin, Tokiwa Smith and her SEM Link program, Terri Norton of the University of Nebraska, Chandra Poole from Northrop Grumman, Air Force Captain Jason Fischbach, and LaAndrea Seay of the Missile Defense Agency.
