Recently, the second of four RS-25 rocket engines was unloaded inside the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, the historic site where rockets are assembled and integrated.
These engines will power the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket for the Artemis III launch, sending the Orion spacecraft into Earth's orbit.
L3Harris manufactured the engines specifically for Artemis III.
The mission will test the ability to rendezvous and dock with commercial lunar landers in low Earth orbit, a critical skill for transporting astronauts to the Moon's surface on future Artemis missions.
