The National Data Science Alliance (NDSA) has announced that the organization will host its inaugural Listening Sessions, a four-day virtual event from April 24-28. Registration is FREE, and those with all levels of knowledge about data science are welcome. To register, you can just click here.
The Listening Sessions will share information with the historically Black college and university (HBCU) community, industry, and academic collaborators about research and educational needs and their data science experiences.
The virtual listening sessions will inform the direction of the NDSA, an alliance of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Eddie Bernice Johnson INCLUDES program.
With a $10 million award from the National Science Foundation, the NDSA aims to increase the number of Black people earning data science credentials by at least 20,000 by 2027 and expand data science research that advocates for social justice and strives to eliminate bias.
The NDSA Listening Sessions will provide and collect information from the following groups:
• April 24, 3-4:30 pm, HBCU Faculty and Researchers • April 25, 3-4:30 pm, HBCU Administrators and Staff • April 27, 3-4:30 pm, Industry, Nonprofit, and Government Professionals • April 28, 3-4:30 pm, Centers, Institutes, Initiatives, or Other Large-scale Efforts
