Advancing Minorities’ Interest in Engineering (AMIE) is hosting its 30th Anniversary and Annual Conference in Washington, DC. The conference theme is “30 Years of Achieving Diversity in Engineering Through Sustainable Partnerships.”

The AMIE 30th Anniversary and Annual Conference is a three-day event that takes place from September 10th to September 12th in Washington, DC.

The conference brings together the Council of Engineering Deans of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), engineering professionals, students, and leaders from government agencies and corporations.

One of the main objectives of the conference is to showcase the world-class engineering expertise being developed and leveraged at HBCUs.

Attendees have the opportunity to participate in inspiring panel discussions, listen to prominent speakers, and network with leaders from various industries.

Attendees will also learn about the best practices for partnering with engineering schools and how to maximize their organization’s return on investment in diversity investment via public/private partnerships.

AMIE is a non-profit organization that focuses on expanding corporate and government alliances with the ABET-accredited Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Schools of Engineering.

The organization aims to implement and support programs that attract, educate, graduate, and place underrepresented minority students in engineering and computer science careers.

The ABET-accredited Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Schools of Engineering represent less than 3% of all the Engineering Schools in the country. Yet, they produce over 30% of all African-American engineers in the United States.
