Alabama A&M University celebrated its annual Christmas Tree Lighting recently. According to AAMU, the program, which was presented by the Student Government Association and the Bulldog Pride Committee, was hosted by President Andrew Hugine and first lady Abbiegail Hugine.

Although the activity limited audience participation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students, faculty, and staff watched from the comfort of their residences, AAMU said.

Among the program presenters was Dr. Kyla Pitcher, interim associate vice president for student affairs, who sang “Silent Night” and later “Joy to the World.”

Other participants included Carl Moore,  executive secretary of the Student Government Association, Miss Alabama A&M University Rakia Bates and Class Queens; and SGA Executive President Japhe Jelks.
