Morgan State University held its commencement on May 14th & 15th. Michael V. Drake, M.D., president of the University of California, served as the keynote speaker for the 144th Spring Commencement.

Bakari Sellers, a political analyst on CNN, was the commencement speaker at Southern University and A&M College on May 14. Tuskegee University has announced that Sellers will serve as the keynote speaker for their commencement exercises on May 30.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore also held a Recognition Ceremony in celebration of its graduating classes on May 14. Watch the UMES celebration on YouTube.

Prairie View A&M University’s spring 2021 candidates for graduation include 222 engineers, according to PVAMU. Michael Dyson, Vanderbilt University professor, and author, was the commencement speaker at the convocation on May 15.

Norfolk State University also held a commencement ceremony on May 15. The event featured NSU Board of Visitors Rector Joan Wilmer. She is a 1999 Norfolk State graduate and is the first woman to serve as the university’s rector since 1998.

Virginia State University will celebrate its Spring 2021 Commencement on May 23 at Rogers Stadium.
