Students and recent graduates will have the opportunity to conduct research and technical projects at national laboratories.
The application deadline for two programs, the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships program and the Community College Internships program, is October 2, 2024.
These programs aim to provide undergraduate students and recent graduates with experience working at DOE national laboratories and help them transition from internship to employment.
Participants will work directly with national laboratory scientists and engineers on research or technology projects supporting the DOE mission.
The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships program is open to full-time students at four-year institutions, community colleges, and recent graduates within two years of receiving their bachelor’s or associate degree.
The Community College Internships program is exclusively for community college students.
Both programs are stipend-based and are offered three times annually in the fall, spring, and summer terms.
Workshops will be conducted to provide strategies for submitting a compliant application, and office hours will be held to answer administrative questions.
Attendance is optional for both workshops and office hours.
These internship programs are managed by the Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists in the DOE Office of Science.
