As a senior manager at General Dynamics Information Technology, Walter Ferguson (left) supports the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality Compliance Division Fuels Compliance Center (FCC). The FCC is responsible for the oversight of fuels and fuel additives programs.

Under Walter’s management, the team has implemented a Scaled Agile Framework. Before Covid-19, his team implemented regular SAFe Agile planning events in person, and these continued virtually. The planning events, combined with an ongoing SAFe Product and Program management approach, have been instrumental to client engagement in defining requirements and actively moving the client and the work forward.

Walter’s contribution to the EPA’s Fuels Compliance Centers (FCC) IT work as the systems engineering senior technical manager has been game-changing. He joined the team in April 2019.

Veronica L. White (center) earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2004, with a specialization in plant breeding and genetics. As associate research scientist/research and development manager, she worked as a Six Sigma Green Belt project leader.

Her community activities include Minorities in Agriculture, the Corteva Agriscience Global African Heritage Alliance, DNA isolation & quantification, the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Youth Leadership Initiative, and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated – Des Moines Alumnae Chapter.
