As the Fall 2023 semester gets underway, USBE‘s Podcast of the Day is focusing on seminars that teach college students important skills.

In this seminar, Sondia Christian, director of business integration at HII formerly known as Huntington Ingall’s Industries; Victor Brown from IBM, and Celena Noel, managing consultant at IBM, share their insights and perspectives on how to build productive and long-lasting business relationships.

The seminar covers various topics, such as the three steps in giving a handshake, techniques to remember names, the connotation of different colors, dress codes (dressy casual, semi-formal, formal, and black tie), the difference between a formal and informal letter, and ways to minimize nervousness while in social situations.

The participants also discussed guidelines for making effective introductions, making a good impression, and the basic rules of business etiquette.
