The BEYA Stars and Stripes Committee has announced the passing of Loretta Penn, the wife of the Honorable B.J. Penn. B.J. Penn formerly served as the assistant secretary of the Navy for Installations and Environment.

In 2022, North Highland, a change and transformation consultancy, shared that Loretta Penn, lead director of its board of managers, was named the Private Company Director of the Year by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).

NACD recognized Penn during its 16th annual 2022 NACD Directorship 100 awards. The event celebrated the most influential directors and governance professionals who have made an incredible impact on boardroom practices and performance.

Penn was nominated by her peers for her strong demonstration of integrity, mature confidence, informed judgment, and high standards. She accepted the award during the NACD Directorship 100 Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City, where she shared her thoughts on the achievement.
