The University of the District of Columbia celebrated the graduation of many students on May 11.

One of the graduates was Phillip Wright, who earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

During UDC’s 47th Commencement, UDC President Maurice D. Edington said, “Today is not just about celebrating all you’ve accomplished—though that’s certainly worth celebrating. It’s also about taking a breath to recognize and honor the realization of your vision. What you dreamed was possible for your life.”

The Commencement Ceremony Keynote Speaker was Rashida Jones, president of MSNBC, who was also awarded an honorary doctorate.

Additionally, UDC Law was ranked #2 in the country by Reuters for sending graduates into government and public interest jobs, up from #5.
