Lieutenant General Bruce T. Crawford, chief information officer for the U.S.Army, was awarded the 2020 Black Engineer of the Year Award for his efforts to mentor the next generation of American scientists, technologists, and engineers.

The three-star Army general joins the select number of active-duty officers who have won the prestigious award since 1987. The list includes Capt. Donnie Cochran (1989), Lt. Gen. Albert Edmonds (1996), and Lt. Gen. Joe Ballard (1998).
