US Black Engineer magazine’s “Leading Voices” department marks its third year with contributions from tech execs, award-winning computer scientists, and engineering professors.

On the cover is Darryll J. Pines, the new president of the University of Maryland. His tenure at the public research university in College Park began on July 1. Prior, he served as dean and Nariman Farvardin Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the Clark School.
