Alabama A&M University is proud of its lifelong relationships with over 40,000 alumni.  During the 2018 Reunion Weekend, alumni representing class years ending in threes and eights came back and made quite an impact, AAMU university said.

AAMU reunions are celebrated in conjunction with Alabama A&M University’s founder’s day.

After an evening of networking, the classes presented checks totaling more than $300,000, including more than $141,000 from the Golden Class of 1968.

President Andrew Hugine, Jr. noted the exceptional work by AAMU’s Division of Marketing, Communication & Advancement.

“Alabama A&M is appreciative of the financial support of more than $300,000 provided for students and initiatives. The Division of Marketing, Communication & Advancement, led by Archie Tucker II is to be commended for the unit’s level of persistence and dedication in accomplishing this feat,” he said.

When asked what distinguished the 2018 Reunion from previous years, Tucker mentioned the commitment and sustained engagement of the alumni affairs staff.

“In Marketing, Communication & Advancement, we create experiences, and that is what Mrs. Stubbs, director of Alumni Affairs, and her team were able to do for Reunion Weekend 2018,” Tucker said.

Planning for 2019 has already begun, the university said.
