Tennesse State University (TSU) has announced that Vice President Kamala Harris will headline TSU’s Spring commencement ceremonies. Vice President Harris will deliver the keynote address for the undergraduate commencement on Saturday, May 7, and Randall Woodfin, mayor of Birmingham, Alabama, will address graduate students on Friday, May 6.

This week, Florida A&M University alumni, St. Petersburg Mayor Ken T. Welch, and Disneyland Resort Vice President for Marketing and Commercial Strategy Sybil Crum will address spring 2022 graduates on April 29 and April 30, respectively.

At Jackson State University, TIAA President and CEO Thasunda Brown Duckett will serve as the speaker for the graduate student ceremony on Friday, April 29th, and Under Secretary of Agriculture for Natural Resources and the Environment Homer Wilkes, Ph.D., will serve as the speaker for the undergraduate student ceremony on Saturday, April 30th.

Tuskegee University says planning is underway for its  Spring 2022 Commencement, and convocation events will run from April 30-May 7.

On Saturday, May 7, Howard University alumna and Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning actress Taraji P. Henson will serve as the 2022 Commencement orator during the 154th Commencement ceremony.

The Spring 2022 Commencement Ceremonies for Southern University and A&M College will be held on Friday, May 13 in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

 

Prairie View A&M University‘s 140th Spring Commencement Convocation will take place on May 14. The 2022 commencement speaker is Darren Walker, president of the Ford Foundation. Under his leadership. The foundation became the first non-profit in U.S. history to issue a $1 billion designated social bond to stabilize non-profit organizations in the wake of COVID-19.

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical (A&T) State University has announced that more than 1,800 students have applied for graduation, representing a 13 percent increase over the past year, and totaling more than 3,000 for the 2021-22 academic year. Emmy Award-winning journalist and co-host of ABC’s “The View,” Sunny Hostin, is the keynote speaker. One ceremony will be held for both undergraduate and graduate students at Greensboro Coliseum.
