The CEO of Career Communications Group, Tyrone Taborn, recently announced a new bill that has been introduced in Maryland which could set a new standard for how legislation influences the digital era.

The bill, authored by Senator Cory McCray, aims to establish the Maryland Artificial Intelligence Advisory and Oversight Commission.

This commission will consist of members from the Senate and House, members from the private AI sector appointed by the Governor of Maryland, and a member from the State Board of Education appointed by the chair of the State Board.

The commission will be responsible for guiding the state in developing, using, and diversifying artificial intelligence. They will also provide recommendations and oversight to ensure that AI technologies benefit all Maryland residents.

The bill addresses important aspects of AI development, such as ethics, transparency, and inclusivity, while fostering an environment that encourages innovation and economic growth.

By promoting responsible AI practices, Career Communications Group believes that the legislation will establish Maryland as a hub for cutting-edge AI research and development.

The bill also aims to ensure minority participation in artificial intelligence and other technology expenditures by the State of Maryland.

The bill takes effect on June 1, 2024, and terminates on June 30, 2027.
