North Carolina A&T State University’s MBA program placed at least 90% of its graduates into jobs within three months of graduation in 2020—a first for a historically Black college and university (HBCU).

According to a report about business schools and colleges, of the 19 MBA programs highlighted, the Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T boasted 94% of its graduates employed at graduation.

“Being featured in this report recognizes the tremendous work and excellence of our faculty, staff, students, and alumni,” Deese College associate dean and MBA director Eric Gladney told North Carolina A&T.  “No matter what life our students carve out for themselves, our MBA is designed to propel them into the future with the transferrable skills and passion to excel in their chosen career.”

Recently, Deese College was ranked in U.S. News & World Report as the nation’s No. 1 graduate business school at a public HBCU and a top 100 full-time MBA program. College Consensus also rated A&T’s MBA program among the top 10 in the country for the best value in 2021.

A&T continues to be one of only 189 business schools worldwide to have its entire business program AACSB accredited as well as separate AACSB accreditation for its accounting program. Click here to read more.

In related news, Willie Deese (photo inset) received an honorary degree during  Davidson College’s 2021 commencement ceremony.

Deese graduated with a degree in business management from North Carolina A&T in 1977 and received an MBA from Western New England University. As he built his career in the industry, he committed $10 million for campus needs and scholarships that have allowed hundreds of students to attend the college. In 2020, North Carolina A&T named the new Willie A. Deese College of Business in his honor.
