Did you know that women hold 58% of all student loan debt, according to research by the Education Data Initiative? Even after 12 years of repayment, Black women owe an average of 13% more than they borrowed. The study also found that 58% of males and 70% of females who hold associate’s degrees received student loans. Female borrowers are more likely than males to have student loan debt from graduate school, but male borrowers have a higher average amount of student loan debt from graduate school.
