As we head closer to the 2020 Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA), the editors of Black Engineer magazine have compiled all the cover stories featuring the men and women who have won the top Black Engineer of the Year Award in one slideshow.

The “Black Engineer of the Year: 34 Years and Counting” timeline starts with John B. Slaughter, the first Black  Engineer of the Year in 1987, through to Anthony K. Mitchell, the 33rd BEYA winner in  2019.  Click on the Engineer’s name to read their articles.

Earlier this week, the 2020 Awards were announced.  Army Lt. Gen. Bruce Crawford, featured on the 2020 magazine cover, is the fourth active-duty officer to win the Black Engineer of the Year Award.

It’s less than 100 days before the BEYA Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Conference. Events at BEYA include the Technology Recognition Lunch, Stars & Stripes Dinner, Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Engineering Deans’ Power Breakfast, and the BEYA Gala.

Hosted by The Council of HBCU Engineering Deans and US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine, the BEYA STEM Conference offers students and professionals opportunities for training at seminars and workshops, networking, role models, mentors, and inspiring events.
