Leading the Hybrid Pack
There are few cars which have come along over the years and defined a change in the industry as much as the compact Toyota Prius. This was the car that showed what the potential of a hybrid could be, and it met with predictable scorn from its American and foreign competitors. Jan 4, 2010, 16:17

Rolling With the Road Runners: 2010 Hyundai Genesis GT
The Genesis comes with a load of upscale electronics. For safety, there are heated side mirrors with turn signal indicators, as well as high intensity headlights and fog lamps. For entertainment, there is XM satellite radio, which is integrated with the navigation system for real time traffic updates. It has easily connected Bluetooth, and for additional entertainment, contains a CD player as well as iPod and USB ports mated to an 8-GB hard drive and a 10-speaker, 360-watt sound system. All of which makes the Genesis a head-turning sports car that one is reluctant to get out of. Nov 17, 2009, 16:57

Hyundai’s Mini Wagon
The Elantra is never going to be mistaken for a sports car. It is only powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine cranking out just 138 horsepower. But in a short slalom course, where maneuverability and handling count as much as horsepower, the little wagon more than holds it own. And the little engine that could carries a 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty, which means it is not likely to wear out quickly. Nov 17, 2009, 16:00

Convenience by Design: In a Car for all Seasons
Benjamin Jimenez had a blank slate, a one-of-a-kind chassis, and a mission to make the first Toyota designed and built in the U.S. uniquely appealing to American motorists. And if you are curious as to how a thoughtful designer can pack a lot into a $35,000 family sedan, you might try a tour in the Toyota Venza. Jul 17, 2009, 15:10

Cornell team will compete to build 100-mpg car
Imagine a car that gets 100 miles to a gallon of gas, seats four people, has
10 cubic feet of cargo space that could accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 12
seconds, with top speed 100 mph -- and fully equipped with a heater, air
conditioner and audio system. A team of Cornell faculty, engineering students
and MBA candidates in the Johnson School is planning to build such a car, race
against similar vehicles and create a realistic business plan to sell at least
10,000 cars for a multimillion-dollar award.

Black technology entrepreneurs are increasingly providing the horsepower that drives the global economy. Over the last two decades, black entrepreneurs have created more jobs, and contributed much more to the economic expansion of the Black community as a whole, than any black pastor or politician. Black entrepreneurs are taking risks and building businesses that generate economic growth and increase prosperity in underserved areas, as more minority-owned and minority-focused businesses emerge, willing to serve the financial needs of Black entrepreneurs. US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine's annual list of Top Black Technology Entrepreneurs reflects the expanding scope of leading Black entrepreneurs in information technology, homeland security, and defense.
