It’s the first Monday of the new year and the mentoring movement has kicked off the celebrations of National Mentoring Month. According to mentoring dot org, several events are recognized at the national level. They include “I Am A Mentor Day” on January 6, International Mentoring Day on January 17, and Dr. Martin Luther King Day of Service, also on the same day. “Thank You Mentor Day” falls on January 27, and the 2022 National Mentoring Summit will be held from January 26-28. You can also get inspiration from past and present winners of the Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA). Many of these professionals in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers are in alignment with the mentoring movement.
